mine is geico and they quoted me more than double what I pay here in ohio... gah I didn't think about that kindof increase.

I would add that my car would be in an area that did not flood at all. way up tchoupitoulas near the blockbuster, (sorry I've yet to move there and Im looking for information before I finally do)

You might consider shopping around for a better rate. The variation between companies in different places is enormous.

Several free online services will get you competitive quotes from several insurers. Here's a page that lists a few of them...

I have Progressive. It runs about $600-650 every six months with Progressive. But my policy is not the lowest limits. I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty. And different zip codes w/i in the city make a difference with rates as well. Or if you are in Jefferson Parish vs Orleans is a big difference too. Years ago I got a Geico quote and it was more than I was paying for less coverage.
