Well, you are married to a green card holder, not a citizen. So it will take at least 5 years to get your green card to be approved.

If your husband is qualified to become an American citizen, he can apply for his citizenship. Then, again he can file the petition for you. But this time, he is a citizen, so the process will be faster. If he is a citizen, you will get your green card within one to two years.

Raquel, While your petition is pending you can work in US and travel back and forth. You need to submit I-765 and I-131. So basically, you can live a normal life. Dont worry.!
