this is just a myth. shaving will not actually increase the amount of hair follicles. you are born with those. shaving does make hair appear thicker, because when you shave, the hair is cut at a blunt angle, making the hair feel more coarse. waxing pulls it out by the root, so when it grows, the end of the hair is naturally tapered making the hair feel softer and thinner. there are other factors that cause darkening of facial hair. these are a few: medications, age, race, heredity, health.

Its not really thicker, it only seems that way since it was cut a blunt angle, If it were ripped out it would seem less corse and thinner. "seem" because truely it stays the same. It seems darker because of the wide angle. It is a Myth. I grows back just as fast. Some forms waxing may seem like it takes more time to grow back, only becuase shaving only cuts it off at skin level, maybe only in half, some kinds of waxing tear out the entire strand. Plucking as well. A Licensed Cosmetologist.

yes, darker and thicker usually. I shave the top of my brows and they even grow back more hideous

sorry all you guys but it has been scientifically proven that that myth is a crock of ****. when you shave it it jus gives your body more room to do what its ment to. no it wont grow back thicker.

yes it's true my dad shaves all the time and it grows faster and thicker which is really rough but yeah it's true hope this helps
