They get a little rust, but otherwise they're very reliable. Mechanically, they're basically an old VW Beetle. So it has a weak heater and not a lot of power, but they will always get you where you want to go - if you can keep it on the road. They also handle like an old VW Beetle - rear engine, and lethal in snow.

Listen to Dodge Man - he knows his stuff.

Pluses; They're neat cars. They will go almost anywhere on or off road. They don't use much gas. Sort of easy to work on. Tune ups aren't expensive.
Minuses; Not much room. Heater SUCKS! Can't find part$$$ and have to wait for them if you do. Fuel injected cars WILL burn up. You have to put up with the foibles of owning an old VW.

It is as reliable as an old beetle. In other words very. It drives like a sports car - it is not affected by semi's passing by and blowing it off the road. You will find it tougher to find used body parts though, most of the other stuff is interchangeable.

sure.. it's just a flat beetle. they are neat cars. a bit underpowered, but drive like a sports car.. the heat/defrost systems are poor at best, but , if thats not a big concern, then enjoy! i know i would. i like cars that aren't everyday cars. i mean, you dont see any anymore.
