My 4 1/2 month old Russian Blue kitten has blue eyes still, with only a sliver of green around the pupils. I got him from a registered breeder, who told me that the longer the eyes are blue, the more vivid the green when they do change colour. Yet, I have looked at some websites (re: cat breed standards) and according to them most Russians should have green eyes by now. So what is correct???

my first instinct would be to listen to the breeder, she knows her lines better than anyone

i agree though, the longer they remain blue the more briliant the green will be, and from my experience 4 months is not late to turn at all, relax

You are very fortunate-4 1/2 months old and still blue eyes. The longer they stay blue the more striking their green eyes will be. At this rate he will have stunning, bright green eyes.
