I got my tongue pierced when I was 15 and my nose pierced when I was 16.

I don't necassarily believe you are too young, but really it's up to your parents. After all, if you don't like it, all you have to do is take it out.

But, on the other hand, there are some things you need to know about tongue piercings.

First of all, it hurts. Not when they do the piercing but when they put that big clamp on your tongue.

Second of all, your tongue will swell up for about a week, and you can only eat liquidy foods, or things like jello, soup, etc. And it is very hard to talk, and unattractive when you do...so since you are most likely going to go to school, I would recommend doing it the day before spring break or whenever you have a week or more off school.

Also, you have to wash your mouth out with antiseptic rinse about twice a day. And last but not least, DO NOT CHANGE YOUR TONGUE RING FOR AT LEAST 8-10 WEEKS!! It will hurt like hell and can certainly get infected. Make sure that once you do end up changing it (after that time is up), you soak all of your used ones in hydrogen peroxide or antispetic mouth wash.

And as far as nose piercing is concerned, it will be red for a while and you need to establish which side you want it on and EXACTLY where you want it or else they can screw it up.

You should wait until you're 18. Seriously use these four years to decide if you really want to still do it - you may change your mind later on. And I speak from experience - I got my first piercing at 18 and I saw all my friends getting much earlier, but I was patient enough to see some nice things, and also some horror shows. I made sound decisions for all three of my piercings - nose, tongue and bellybutton. Trust me, be patient and don't do anything rash that you may regret later. And by the way, I am very happy with my decisions - because I took a lot of time to make them.

Good luck sweetie!!

it really doesn't matter if we think you are too young or not dear because ultimately your parent(s) make the rules.

The main thing to keep in mind is that piercings to tongue and lip do leave a scar and that is something you need to think ahead about because you will be getting a job later in life, hopefully one that requires you to take the tongue and lip ring out. And um when you do, do you want the lip scar showing? The tongue one you can hide. Although depending on how they put it in that might not even matter. My hubby, his shows on top, but many show on the bottom.

Anyways, yeah so what your friends do and what you can do well it sucks but yeah maybe your you will get it done maybe you won't. Just like i said think ahead about the scar on the lip.

When I was your age I wanted my tongue pierced, more than anything. My parent's said no, as they should.

When I turned 18, I went out and got it done. And to this day, it is my favourite piercing, and to this day I would not change one aspect of it.
I'm thankful my parents MADE me wait, because it made getting the tongue ring all the better.

If you still want those piercings at 18, by all means, get them! But you really should wait. Also, get a tongue ring first (when you're 18). They're less painful, heal easier, and have less problems than other facial piercings.

The blogbaba has always thought an arrow or a spear entering the left ear and exiting the right ear was a nice piercing technique. Your fourteen, why would you want to puncture you body with objects and deface youself.

Yeah, your too young to go poking holes in you skin with shiney objects. Believe me your not going to do your self a favor getting into body piercing, at the very least give your parents a chance to talk you out of it.

i dont think you are too young but if you really want it you should think about it, their arent too many jobs that will hire you if you have those piercings trust me i know i was 14 and i got my monroe and labret pierced and i loved them and i still have them but in the future it will be harder for you to get a decent job! and as for the tongue piercing i would wait until you are older at least wait till youare 16 and then if you still want it go for it!

Well, I'm the same age as you, and honestly, I wouldn't do it. We think we want things now, and then we get older and wish we hadn't gotten them. Wait until you're older to get it done, when you're entirely sure that it's what you want. Not too much older, but at youngest, 16. Good for your friend that got piercings, but you're two entirely different people, so what she does should in no way affect your decisions.

sweetheart, i think that is a bit much for someone as young as you. i bet by the end of high school you will not want those things anymore. i did the whole nose piercing and monroe and i liked it for only a few months. accessorizing myself with cute jewelry looks a lot better than putting it on your face.

i think tongue piercings look nice but you it's hard to eat certain things or drink alcohol or smoke without it getting infected. lip piercings can be cool if they fit right, but it seems like they would get in the way when you're try to eat/kiss/whatever. nose piercings can be pretty if you get a stud and not a big bulky ring, that's what i would go with first.

I understand. I am about to turn 14 too, I want my inner cartlige and inner ear pierced, but I think I am a little young for both. I think that you should wait a while to get your piercings though. Or maybe get a few magnetic ones to see how they look and feel. And if you do get any, maybe try one at a time. Good Luck
