usually, it will lighten up a few shades but it's nothing dramatic. my natural is DARK brown and I've gotten it lighter, but usually I end up with highlights. It will look nothing like it does on the box though.. I've always used permanent hair dye so I don't know about semi, but usually your roots are lighter than your ends so you'll have a different color scalp. Mine has been bright red on top and dark brown at the ends. You kinda just have to experiment and go with the flow... sometimes it ends up really looking good..

Dyes change the colour.. thats the point.. you can get a reddish cast to that with what you cite.. but if you wanna go more auburn.. you will need a bleach job first defore you dye.. but in any even of course its gonna change the colour of your natural hair.. thats what they make thats stuff for.. if you just want a red cast to what you already have go with a medium or dark red to provide the cast..

It will change the tone of your hair or the color and can only go darker not lighter with a semi permanent color. Good luck however I strongly suggest you go to a professional
