I have this Dell Inspiron E1505 running Windows XP Media Center Edition. My friends have been convincing me into a Mac. I don't want to get another laptop nor leave the laptop I have right know. So I am asking if there is a way to install Mac OSX Tiger over Windows XP/Vista.

Apple Software (Mac) can only work on Mac's. However, MS Windows (at least XP) can now work on Mac's, but only IF the Mac has an Intel Pentium chip in it.

Dell is not Apple/Mac appropriate, so Tiger will probably not work on it.

Vista is not a viable option for many PC and Laptops. Including some Mac's.

Vista will NOT fully work unless you have the proper hardware. Such as a WDDM approved Graphics card with at least 256 MB RAM (512 MB will run better), 2 GB RAM and a Dual-Core processor.

Many people have been disappointed that Vista is not running well with their current systems, even though they meet the minimum requirements, and Aero will not work at all. Without the above upgrades, Vista works just as if it's Windows XP, but with less features.

Windows XP and Vista are a lot better than Mac. Mac is so much harder to use. Stay with Windows XP. When you upgrade to Mac, which I don't know if you can do, you're going to want to upgrade back very soon.

Hello ameer_ghani2005,

Sorry. Apple is a hardware manufacturer and the only way to use the Mac OS X is by buying a Macintosh. The good news is that you can run windows inside of a Macintosh. Enjoy your Dell for now and then move over to a Macintosh as your next computer.

Best of luck to you.

Nope. Mac OS only runs on Apple hardware. If you want the Mac OS, you have to buy a Mac.
