set a day and time for it in the Task Scheduler or Scheduled Tasks.

Simple. Just go to the microsoft website and click on updates. But it's not really needed as they always send you a pop up as new updates become available. I get them almost everyday...

just turn on auto updates. you have to wait till there is one.
