It is possible. I'm not sure the exact process, but I have a friend of mine who is getting married in September and she's doing it. I believe she's adding several inches, so it can be done! It might be one of those things where when you order it, you request it like that and the designer will take care of it.
Do check out www.theknot.com . It has several designers to look and and gives you the relative price range -- which you can't find on many sites! Also take a gander at www.houseofbrides.com . This site has a handful of designers but it gives you the exact price, which I think is important and can make all the difference if you're choosing between 2 perfect dresses....

Trains are falling out of popularity because of their weight and size ... you won't know it until you've been walking around in the dress for 5 hours, but it does get very heavy and very tiring. Your best situation would be to get a dress and have a seamstress make a removable train ... that way you will be able to walk down the aisle with a long, flowing train and are able to take it off before the reception.

Only if you want to pay to have the dress totally remade. If you are dying for a certain dress, and if you can afford it, design your own with a dress designer. I got my dream dress by buying vintage and having it remade just a bit. Be creative.
Just google wedding gowns. I'm sure a ton will pop up. Try brides.com for a start.

I am not sure if it is possible to add a train to a wedding dress. Here are some sites for you to check out:
www.davidsbridal.com
www.marysbridal.com
www.edenbridals.com
www.bonny.com
All these sites have really cute dresses and you should be able to find something that you like.

If you aren't getting married for a few months, maybe you could have the dress made to your liking! Did you go to bridal boutiques? They can usually order anything that they do not have in their shop. Good luck!
