i would like somthing reliable, good for cartooning and animation.

Yes, get a mac. They ARE reliable. If you want a desktop get an iMac, if you want a laptop get MacBook. For the cartooning and animation, go to the apple store and ask for softwear to use cartooning and animation. I know for a fact there is a cartooning softwear, but I can't remember what it is called. But seriousally, ask someone at the apple store and they can help you.

If you are indeed asking about the operating system, then when you buy a Mac it will come preloaded with Mac OS X 10.4, the best in OS technology out there today.
