Why isn't there more input about our fighting men and women in the war zones.?

Have we reduced ourselves to our Ipods and mp3 and taken our lives for granted.

Wouldn't that be nice? I think there should be a magazine devoted to the troops. That way loved ones could see what every military unit around the world is doing, and where they are going. It could give us a no BS take on the war, as well as any other missions hte brave men and women undertake.

Because they have a job to do and don't have time to talk to reporters. Besides the fact that they are in a place of responiblity if they say the wrong thing they could put others soldiers at risk so enlisted are usually discouraged from talking to the press. Officers will a lot of times make statements but it can be a mistake if it's taken the wrong way and blown up into a huge thing they could face charges or it could at least ruin their career. It's just too risky in this day of a bias media to make statements. That doesn't keep them from having an opinon, almost every member of the military has a firm viewpoint on politics, and war. Some can be quite suprising, and the best way to find out is to meet people one on one and become friends. Some guys will discuss their views and experiences and some wont. They ones that won't usually have reasons why they don't and that should be respected.

And to the first guy that answered their is military press sources, and each branch has their on branch wide magizne and newspaper. The army has the "Army Times". www.military.com is also pretty good. I get their email newsletters.

I don't own an ipod or mp3.

There is tons of info about our troops on the net, if you take the time to look you will find it. If your require spoon feeding from the network talking heads you will repeatedly ask yourself this question.
