Last May, I began communicating with a girl I met online. She lived on the West Coast and I'm in the Midwest, so we e-mailed and called each other. She came close by for some training in September and we met up a couple times.

On our second meeting, she told me she had feelings for me. I was conflicted, because I was attracted to her intellectually but not physically. She then began subtly pressuring me to visit her and take an interest in her hobbies. I felt like things were moving too fast.

Eventually, I called her and said that I didn't want to get into a long distance relationship. She seemed a little hurt. She said that it wasn't a good idea for us to continue to stay in touch, and that she would keep me up to date with what's going on with her.

Today, after zero contact for 5 months, she e-mails me out of the blue. The tone of the e-mail was friendly as our earlier exchanges.

I'm confused. Does she want to be friends or is she trying to get me back into a relationship?

Ask her, that's the easiest way to find out. Maybe she was hurt when you first said about not wanting the long distance relationship, but now thought about it and wants to be friends. Or she could be trying to lure you back in.....only way to find out is to ask. Just send a friendly email back telling her you are glad she wants to keep the friendship...(if you do). See what kinda response you get to that. Should answer your question.
