In my opinion it is. And just like asprin, I try not to take it unless tthe pain is REAL bad. I use religion the same way...I allow myself to believe in invisable friends when the pain is real bad but I don't consider religion fact. Sometimes life is just more fun if you believe in Santa Claus so sometimes, I do.
But only as frequently as I may take an asprin. I like that analogy.

No. Religion is not like aspirin. Aspirin has a positive use, it clears up inflammation, thins the blood, eases pain through mopping up prostoglandins in the system. Aspirin is not addictive, and in moderation does good things for the system. It is a miracle drug.
Religion is more like an opiate, which is any substance that masks pain but does not ease it, makes one feel better while damaging the person, and is expensive and addictive to boot.
Sorry . . .

Religion has taught me many virtues. Respect, self sacrifice, love for neighbor, trust, honesty, Discipline, etc. It has made me a nicer person and much more patient, just, kind, and understanding than before. Most people who have had a religion on these forums, and hate it, hate it only because they fail to see these good things that come out of it. They have never taken it seriously and hope that good will come to them when good will not come to you. It must be created by you for a more fulfilling life.

If you mean that it relieves aches and pains and other things, then yeah. Prayer to God is an awesome thing. You can be healed and be blessed, but it's not all about religion. It's about having a relationship with God. You can't just pray and want something. You have to be following God whole heartedly. But sometimes God does answer prayers for people to show them that he does exist. It's just that some people don't relize it.

Aspirin only treats the symptom, not the problem.

Well, both can upset your stomach.
On the other hand, religion doesn't do as well at relieving pain and it is generally an inflammatory rather than an anti-inflammatory.

religion maybe, but a real relationship with Jesus is the cure, not just something to treat the illness. God bless
