my friend has a 93 altima that he wants to sell me for 300$.. he rear ended someone w/ it but the damage only effected the hood and grill, no frame work. its got 220k, minimal rust on the wheel wells, runs good, and is excellent inside and the paint is in good shape. needs front tires, and the heat only works on high setting. is this a good deal?

i would buy it if i needed transportation for a short amount of time short to me is under 6-7 months, thats if it runs with minimal-no problems, if u no even the basic methods of working with a cars body, you can go to a junkyard, get a hood, take out the grill, if ur lucky youll find one then sand them and repaint the car, all this will make it look better, meaning youll be able to sell it later for a little bit more money, just make sure you try to work out the major flaws, the minor stuff tell the seller, i learned the hard way, but if it was m i would BUY

Its 300 bucks! ... you say its ure friends so im assuming u know how it drives and if it makes any noises n etc... so if u dont see any probs with the car ... go ahead buy it and use it to its fullest ..
i wouldnt really invest in the car though unless u went to a junkyard and found a hood and bumper i wouldnt put money into it .. but if it runs?.. then for 300 bucks its a bargain..
IMO if it runs for 6 months or even a year you get your moneys worth really .. and if u buy it and it breaks on you just sell the car for parts or get some money for scrap metal .. and u still will make up atleast 30% of your cost back ...

Why would you want to buy a Altima for $300.00 with body damage and 220k miles? In most states, It is illegal to drive with hood damage because it restricts your view. It sounds like this car belongs in the junk yard!

For $300 you really can't expect a whole lot. Add in another $150 to buy new tires (even cheap ones), oil change, maybe change the brakes, coolant and other fluids. Plan to spend $600 when your done.

Some mechanics that opens small car shop would look into it for tear it apart to fix other cars.
If you want to buy it and fix it, i suggest you not to... cuz u gonna end up cost more than what it worth when its in good condition.

it's a car. a three hundred dollar car. might be a good deal if he throws in a full tank of gas. did i mention that the WHOLE car costs less than a single decent wheel? don't walk... run away from this one, unless you REALLY REALLY enjoy fixing a car.
