I've lost all my motivation to eat right and exercise within the past six months and I'm starting to gain weight and feel tired most of the time. What can I do to get back on track? I don't have the same desires to stay fit and this scares me... please HELP!!!!

In dire need of a diet/work out routine.

Diet and exercise routines are the easy part. Motivation, and the head games that go with it, is the hard part.

Diet: Well-balanced, calorie-restricted. Eat the food pyramid within a reduced range.
Exercise: At least 30 minutes, 3 times a week. Make appointments on your calendar if you have to, just get back into the habit. I had to set reminders on Outlook when I started out, found a Couch to 5K program, and then signed up for a race 3 months later, to which I invited my family and my boss. Public failure is my greatest fear, so this was how I motiviated myself to run. By race time, I had the habit established.

Motivation: Something in your life is telling you that you need to lose weight. How do you want your life to be when you lose the weight? Do you want to climb Mt. Everest? If so, put a photo of the mountain on your fridge. Do you want to be around to see your nieces/nephews/children/grandchildren grow up? Their photos go on the fridge, right at eye level to challenge you when you think of cheating. It really does work.

Good luck!
