in this context, it means just a short while ago. it can be used in a future context as well.

This has already been answered (presently or a little while ago) but I want to comment on "demander". The verb SHOULD be demande with an accent on the final e. As you have it, it's in the infinitive and should be in the passe' compose'. Also, no need for the "pour".

It means "presently", but you should write : "... il m'a demandé de l'argent" = he asked me for money.
