I am currently studying Japanese. I have traveled there before, but that was a few years ago. How long should it take the average joe who studies grammar and vocab about 2 hours a day to be able to speak Japanese? I have been at it for about a month, and I am quite happy with my progress. Are there any web sites that anyone could recommend?? Since my 3 month vacation to Japan, I have been enthralled by Japanese culture and language. It is only now that I have had the time to actually sit back and study. Look forward to hearing from everyone! Thanks :)

Yes I do have quite the Anime and Japanese music collection... I use them often to help with comprehension... So far it has worked well... Every time I watch/listen I understand more and more

If you can understand that...? (and if I wrote it correctly?)

You're doing fine.

There are different ways to speak Japanese and what I tend to get hung up on frequently are the language specifics in etiquette and respect. If you learn that, you'll be okay! The language is 1/2 ability to memorize and use words and 1/2 knowing what version to use on whom and when. That is where it get's tricky.

do you like anime or Japanese music? I found that you can learn Japanese a little bit quicker by listening to anime in Japanese or lots of Japanese muisc. that's how i learned most of the things I know.
