Well the IMPORTANT question you should be asking (the REALLY important question) is "What happens if my friend has an ACCIDENT while driving my car without a license?"
If that happens he is not going to GET a license for a while longer and will have to find a new friend to borrow a car from. YOU on the other hand will have a whole bunch of new friends. I prob. don't have enough fingers on my hands to count them all, but lets imagine
1) Your insurance company.... when they disown you because you knowingly loaned your car to an unlicensed driver. That means you will be on your own as far as damages go and get to meet....
2) The OTHER guys insurance company. Right or wrong, they are going to fix the OTHER guys car and then you will have to pay them. Even if their guy was wrong.. the accident would not have happened if you had not loaned out your car. Once you get that $10 or $20 grand worked out you will get to meet;
3) The other guy's attorney. Nope the attorney for the insurance company only wanted to get the money to fix the cars.. this guy wants to talk to you about his clients injuries.... figure a minimum hospital stay at around $25k for a week or so..
3.5) Nope.. you're not done with him yet. Did he mention Pain and Suffering. that will set you back a few more dollars.
3.75) Back again.. almost forgot about attorney's fees.
4) Don't want to pay.. no problem you get to meet the judge just before he garnishes your wages (up to 50% of your net) to pay off the bills...the gift that keeps on giving.....
and so on...
get the idea.....?
Time to have a heart to heart with your friend...

He would lose out on getting to drive for awhile, and I don't know about jail-probably just no license for awhile. As for you, You are the registered owner of the truck, since I don't know what state you reside in, please call your local police station or state patrol to get the answer. And, please, stop letting an unlicensed 17 yr. old drive your truck. Hypothetically, if you are insured (& I do hope you are), your insurance rates would go up higher if anything happened with him driving your vehicle. As a side note, the reason insurance rates are so high to begin with, is because there are people who are not insured, and others that not only are not insured, but not properly licensed, drive, get into an accident, etc. Please be more responsible than that. Thank you. Take care.

they would probably issue him a ticket for no license,and if you was with him they would tell you to drive the rest of the way,that's the most likely thing they would do,if he got smart with them,they could take him to jail over it,good luck.

he go,s to jail.....then has to post a cash bond because he has no license to tender........they tow & impound your truck.....you have to pay towing & storage to get your truck back [ first youll have to show your licence,registration,& proof of insurance.]....as far as your friend......that depend,s on what they charge him with....driving without a licence,insurance,& whatever they pulled him over for.....as far as you....they may want to know why you let him drive your vehicle........did you know he didnt have a licence,insurance, or did he steal your truck.....you decide!
