If I weigh myself before I eat in the morning, and before I go to bed at night, often times it says I have gained 4 or 5 pounds...Is this normal?

it really depends on the size of the person and how hydrated they keep themselves but 4-5 lbs is definetly in a "normal" range. if you are on a weigh reduction diet you only need to weigh yourself once a week and at the same time of day, doesn't matter if it's day or night.

Sounds like your electrolyte balance is a little out of whack. Drink more water, consume less sodium. Your body retains water when its dehydrated.

But truly, if you are trying to improve your health, pay no attention to the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat, and its the stuff that makes you look good and have more energy. If you are training correctly, it may appear like you're making slow progress when you're doing well, which can be discouraging. Judge your results with a mirror.

That sounds right on. That is completely normal. Based on what you've eaten in the day, things you've had to drink, etc.
My weight fluctuates the same.
Everyone says that weighing yourself in the morning is your "true weight" or atleast, why would we say our true weight is the heavier number??! :)

Last week I satrted out at 161 and after the end of the day and wrestling practice, I weighed 149. So I guess it just depends on the person.
