Yes, if you are a child of God you know that Gods Word does not change - its the same yesterday, today and forever; This is because it doesn't need to change - there's nothing new under the sun, which means regardless of what new toys or foods or medicines mans little brain conjures up, man still basically stays the same; he's still capable of the same wrongs and rights, etc.
You can give man all the credit you wish, but quite frankly, in this day and age one thing man cannot claim is good conduct by any stretch of the imagination. If anything, we now make Sodom and Gommorah look like a freakin Sunday School.

There are people who entirely do, but these are often ascetic, or monastics, and are unable to be fully benefited by, and benefit the world around them, thus is religion renewed with each age, indeed is the cause of the advances of each age.

Consider how on the same day the Baha'i faith was heralded May, 23rd 1844, the telegraph was confirmed workable with the message "What hath God wrought?", and the age of communication, and union of the world was begun, heralded in science, and religion, equally to their excellence.

God's Word is the same past, present and future. That is the great thing about the deal Jesus fixed for us that the eternity is not so much about the code of conduct as it is the acceptance of Him as a Savior. And when we do that, we also want to do what is right.

a good code of conduct is a good code of conduct even if it is 10,000 years old . and what the hell has penicillin , electricity or twinkies have to do with a code of conduct. and this code of conduct wasn't written by people.

Complicated question, actually. If you're talking about rituals to fill your life with, then no, I personally don't think it makes much sense -- though lots of people do.

But there are a few principles that still do make sense. Best is "Treat other people the way you'd like to be treated," which shows up in most religions. Don't throw out babies like that with the (fairly obvious) bathwater.

Some people would like to...the same people who would like to beat their wives, own slaves, terrorize defenseless nations, deny true citizenship based on sexual orientation, etc. Oh wait, that's White Male America.
