i too am a curly headed girl and i love it. to keep your hair curly, quit using shampoo! its full of the same stuff found in carpet cleaner and laundry detergent (to make the bubbles). curly hair is naturally dry and spongy and will soak up this detergent, making it even drier. I learned that by using a conditioner for dry hair, especially for curly hair by sunsilk, infusium 23 (really good) or mane and tail is really good, will improve your hair's condition by rehydrating it. I condition my hair every day or every other day, i start off by massaging the scalp really well with conditioner to clean it and then condition the rest of hair. I finish with a thorough rinse with water. If you are worried about a greasy feeling, mix lemon juice with conditioner for a rinse once a week. Once your hair is conditioned and rinsed, take a towel and towel dry your hair. Start off by carefully squeezing and scrunching your hair with the towel up toward the scalp, like an accordian. Be careful or you will break apart the curls. Once your hair is damp but drip free, you can apply a gel (some are made just for curly hair) or a creme (my favorite is sunsilk creme for curly hair-its in a green bottle, it holds the curl but makes it soft so you still have a lot of movement). Put a good-sized dob of creme (as an example) into your hand, rub your hands together, bend over so your hair falls towards the floor, and scrunch the creme/gel into your hair. Let you hair air dry for best results, or use a diffuser hair dryer to dry (i always air dry). Never comb/brush your hair, that breaks the curls apart and makes them frizzy. When you rinse your hair in water, it will break apart any tangles. If you need to refresh your curls later in the day, take a spritz bottle full of water and spray your hair lightly, it will recurl your hair and reduce frizzies. Good luck and have fun!

Hi,
I suggest using mousse, which is a product that defines your curls but does not harden or mess it up. If you use gel, your hair will become too hard and won't look natural. You can get some GREAT tips at the website noted below. Sunsilk Curls Mousse is a high-quality, affordable, and fantastic product. By clicking on the website below, they can give you step-by-step anaylsis on how to define your curls.

Also, more tips:

When your hair is dry, never use a brush or comb as it will break the curls and your hair will expand like a balloon.

Keep you hands away from your hair. Touching your hair can break up the product that’s meant to hold your curls in place. The oils and moisture from your skin can also drag down curls.

Use Sunsilk Re-style Aqua-spray to revive your curls in between washes.

Simply apply 4-5 sprays to dry hair and gently lift and scrunch your curls.

Hope all goes well! :D

Hey!!! i had the same problem, and i tried soo many gels, creams, etc... try Sunsilk Frizz-free or something like that , itz a cream, just go to the store, any (wal-green's even) and look in the shampoo section by the sunsilk stuff. there are some green bottles, look for the one that says cream or gel, but not the shampoo and conditioner (but u could use those too, they help). this thing helps keep your hair less frizzy and puffy (like mine was) and it usually makes mi hair shine really nicely... you should put the cream on damp hair (not too wet, not too dry hair) and your hair should look great for about 6-7 hours, then after that you might have to put some more on...:)) Hope i helped even a little!!!

Ahhh. I had the same problem when I had long hair. Try this, apply some wax (LUCIDO.L, Japanese brand, Perm Hair Wax, it's lime green in color-container) blend into lightly damp hair, twirl it into a bun at the back of your head (use a chopstick). Leave it to dry, let it down, loosen it & you are ready to go. Curls are beautiful, never frizzy, stays that way for a day or two. Do not comb though. Have fun.

Put gel in your hands and sprunch it, then spray like crazy and it'll be fine. But be sire to do it while its wet. (the most amazing curls are if you put hot curlers in your hair, leave them in for a while, then style it with a large curling iron and use hair spray like crazy)
The best thing that works, is a combonation of mousse and spray, gel is the cheapest though.
If you have a lot to spend on this look look for the John Freida seperation wax spray(use before and afrer mousse and sprunching), the DEP hair products system, or the Tony&Guy line of products (more commonly known for Bed Head, ect) and look for the curling products, all those work totally awsome

My hair is the same way...
if I get out the shower, dry it and brush it out I look like The Lion King! LoL

So try this it works- use Nuetragenia TGel, Loreal Conditioner, Blow dry it and comb it out with a very wide big comb.

Then apply Proclaim glossing polish throughout your hair- this will give it shine and take away frizz, then if you want a more defined curl use Pink Light Oil Moisterizer and why your putting it on twirl your finger around your hair to make the curls more defined.

You need a light oil and water based moisturizer. Put them in your hair while it's wet then twist small sections of your hair around you finger. Let it dry. This should increase the curl you already have.
