I have been a runner my whole life and have recently moved up to 6-8 miles a day.
However I have been having some problems lately with my knee because of the increased mileage. I'm not hurt yet, but I decided to try the elliptical machine instead.

I was just wondering what is the comparison between an elliptical and treadmill? I have went on the elliptical for 35 minutes at level 25..and have definitely gotten my heart rate up! The calories burned say almost more than when I run.. so I'm wondering if those are very accurate or if there was a knowledgable website that would let me know the comparison between ellipticals and actual running.

Thanks!

An elliptical is a great choice for a person in your situation with the knee. Ellipticals, since they move with your feet, will not put nearly as much stress on the knees as you would if you were running. At the same time, you would be getting the proper cardiovascular exercise that a runner needs to exercise and you would be burning enough calories as long as you keep the intensity up. I say go for it

elliptical is super for you in view which you have undesirable knees. in case you desire to start up working returned, i might shop making use of the elliptical for the familiar public of your workout ordinary classes and start up off working for short classes at a time, progressively increasing each time so as which you would be able to advance and practice your knees returned. good success!
