When he/she starts biting say No in a stern voice, I used Ow and would pull my hand away stopping the play that was happening. Your puppy will get it with time dont be worried :)

I must ask you a question, "How is your puppy suppose to respond?" The only way your puppy knows how to respond is by biting or scratching. You cannot take that away from the puppy or all you will have is a puppy/dog that just lays there. You can teach your dog not to bite and scratch roughly. I am able to stick my finger in my Miniature Schnauzers mouth and shake his head and no imprint of his teeth. Now I am working on his sister which is a puppy. Don't take the pups playing back away.

Dogs respond the best when POSITIVE reinforcement is given--grabing its snout and shouting at the dog will ultimately cause fear, then anger, and at the least, confusion. The puppy is just a baby, and wishes to show its love for you, and everything in its wake by putting it all in its mouth. my advice is to praise when the dog is bahaving, you may think it will interrupt its good behavior but this is just not so. So, whenever pup is laying down, and behaving, be sure and acknowledge how good it is doing by telling him so and allow the pup to get excited, and possiblly get into more trouble-but, this is the best time to learn the difference between bad attention and good attention. When the pup puts any part of you and any one else in that mouth- (be consistant, with everyone it comes into contact with,or you will be spinning your wheels, k!) and literally "Yelp!" just like a pup would say " ouch!" and make sure that you remove said appendage quickly and try and get some sympathy from the pup by some dramatics or whimpering, and then, REPLACE WITH A TOY!! and this is so very critical--do not ever leave the house or the room or wutever - without a toy, really more than 1-2 different toys are essential- both for your sanity and the pups!!! His teeth are Killing him, man, so please do not forget to give him the good toys immediatly after removing the bad(arms, hair, shoe, wutever!) and then PRAISE the dog for chewing the good toy and not your hand!! As soon as he jumps or shows lack of attention to your rules--"Yelp!!" like he would- or turn away from dog completely ignoring him whenever he should jump up or even pull on the leash--just turn around 180degrees and walk other way or just ignore him until he can behave properly. They really want to impress and retain only your admiration- so, though scolding is sometimes a necessary component to growning up--it is Never the first choice for any baby animal or human. It will cause it to be insecure and detached and in no condition to learn and love in the long run!! good luck!!

well, when you play with a dog you usually use your hands to grab at him or push him playfully around. But since dogs dont have hands they use their mouth instead. So i would allow gentle biting, but if he bites really hard then say "NO" in a stern voice. He'll get the point eventually.

Sternly tell your puppy 'no' over and over. And when he stops, change your tone and reward him. Over time he'll hopefully stop biting. Puppies, especially when they're growing in their teeth, love to chew on things. It usually stops as they get older.

depending on the age of your pup try picking him up from the ground (you now become ALPHA) and growl at him. This would immitate his mother's reaction when he stepped out of line. Showing your pup you are alpha and they are to follow you and not lead you will make a happy family in weeks to come. Don't step down. And GOOD LUCK, puppies are fun
