i like a guy who has no idea who i am. we've never spoken in person and he's more popular than i am. should i give up hope and just forget about him or should i keep trying?

i have talked to him online. i have tried. my friend who knows him was supposed to introduce us but she's been putting it off for a week. i'd go talk to him but i dont have any classes with him and the only time i see him is in the hallway

Listen, if you really like this guy, go for him. Even if you don't know him, try to get friends to hook you up or ask his friends about him. You may think popularity matters, but it really doesn't. If you just try really hard, you'll get him.

Doesn't sound like you're "trying" at all.
Don't give up before you even talk to him. How else is he going to find out who you are? Who cares if he's more popular - if he's popular because he's NICE, then he'll take the time out to talk with you.

Keep trying! If he doesn't admire persistence, he isn't worth hanging out with. Popularity doesn't matter as much as real friendship, so don't give up right away. Trust me, I know from experience.

i've had the exact same thing done to me, girlfriend did the same thing, she thought the same thoughts, and always wandered if it was hopeless, if you really like him give him your time, try to be with him when he is alone, just talk to him, that's how i noticed my girlfriend, and shes been the best ever and i lover her so much, trust me it could be worth it, but its up to you if you want to have him
