Of course! They pick and choose not only what testament they want to follow, but the very rules in the new testament itself! They don't want to face the realization that the rules are too strict and even contradict each other. That is too much of a hazard to their ignorant bliss.

Here is how it breaks down:
The God of the Old Testament is a vengeful, angry God who punishes sinners for their actions. Many who believe the Old Testament as authoritative are Jewish. This is also described as the "old covenant". The New Testament, on the other hand, describes a more loving God who gives Jesus Christ (His Son and messiah) for the sins of mankind. In Greek (the language in which the New Testament was written), "Testament" means covenant or agreement. Therefore, the New Testament, or Christianity, feel the New Testament is authoritative because Christians believe that Jesus was God's new way to bind his people.
So when you look at the Old Testament compared to the New, the Old Testament is used as a supplement to the New Testament...sort of a "reinforcer" to solidify the new agreement between God and mankind.

this is a in simple terms precise question and that i dont completly understand why, although i will shed somewhat easy on how some christians justify doing so. there's a place in the hot testomony the placement Peter has a inventive and prescient from God telling him that between the main animals that were earlier seen unclean were now okay to consume subsequently lifting that earlier stipulation of the old testomony regulation. This became into as quickly as an exact ingredient that was once now allowed yet there is not any element out of the different specs and strategies in the time of the historic testomony being lifted. I advise to declare which you will could desire to disreguard the ten commandments. Many Jewish persons on the different hand however dont consume exact concerns because of the actuality loads of them don't have self assurance in or use the hot testomony so those nutritional criminal regulations are nonetheless in prepare. i've got self assurance that the classes in the scriptures will could desire to be accompanied in the old and new testaments. The Bible says that God is the comparable the day till now at present,at modern, day after at present and ceaselessly. God didnt furnish us his words so as that we would want and choose which ones we adore regardless of the way as a rule we could desire it to be which potential, thinking the indisputable fact that I continuously fall rapid. God is conscious none persons are impressive although expects us to objective to be as very similar to Christ as available which may be attractive tough to do if we throw out the classic testomony. the finest technique to assert this is totally easily that many in looking the historic testomony too tricky to stay with in the international we are living in. Of path in the event that they fairly examine the hot testomony they could totally carry close that the standards and regulations in the old testomony are alive and nicely in the hot testomony.

You are completely right, God never made mistakes, so saying that he change the pact its saying that God did a mistake and he had to come up with some way to solve it. I think that's foolish.
New testament has good teachings, but the light its the Torah.

Pocking and choosing convenience is how MAN created so many subtypes of religion. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and all the many sub-subtypes.
You make a good point. That is what you are doing, not really asking a question. But you will never win this logic to a person of faith.
Faith doesn't require logic or proof. This question is a good attempt though.

Have you not noticed that the
Old Testament is filled with
examples that are types of Christ.
Passover for example. Lambs
blood on your door, death passes by.
The blood of Christ covering you.
The Holy Ark. Inside the Commandments
were kept. Christ kept the
Commandments and fulfilled the law.
You get the idea.
The Old Testament is old news.
The New Testament contains the
Good News.....Salvation.

What part of "NEW covenant" do you not understand?
"Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant which they broke, though I was their husband, says the Lord. But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." (Jeremiah 31:31-33)
"And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' And likewise the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.'" (Luke 22:19-20)
"In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." (Hebrews 8:13)

Galatians goes into detail about this.
A key passage is 3:19. If you're really serious about this then read the whole letter. I suggest the New Living Translation.

I think it is a result of growing populations of people. It became too hard to keep some large groups of people united in the stagnant teachings of the old testement when they saw everything else in their world changing.
