as proved in history every civilization (wheter it was a great one or not) eventually breaks and the downfall begins.
Knowing this i believe that the downfall of America will be because of immorality. Look at the society. It will be if not the only one then one of the major reasons of the downfall.
Do you agree..what do you think it will be?

each generation
america seems to get more loose and loose.
in the 30s and 50s kids did not go around sleeping and disrespecting parents as much as they do now..infact it was very rare..just look at a show for example..I love lucy or Leave it to beaver. Society then was much different than now. simple as that

to pumkin:
"It will be because of war and material over-indulgence. If we can't stop fighting, we'll kill each other off. If we continue to spend and over-extend ourselves financially and materially, we will eventually kill our earth and destroy our financial system. "
you pretty much proved my point...material over indulgence is pretty much the same thing as being immoral.. immorality doesn’t necessarily mean having illegitimate sex...it means that as well as being materialistic ..having no faith..and that would bring a system down because people will go crazy and wont be thinking properly and have wrong intentions and such things

I think you are right. It is a beginning. Usually, after such an incline from a kingdom after a certain amount of years, there's always the great decline. (Russia comes to mind. They were almost equal to us in the 80's. Now look at them.) And as far as "Pagan" Alexander goes; Did you know that during the Conquering of Palestine,(331 B.C.) he embraced the Jews and their God. He even let them live among his people in Alexandria and so forth and let them build synagogs. So, for the loudmouth who mentioned this, The Greeks had already had God in their camp.

I disagree. First of all, America is not much more immoral than it was in previous generations. Teens had sex in the 50's and 40's. It was just not as out in the open. There have always been gays, it just hasn't always been safe to tell people about it.
Second of all, how does immorality hurt society? I mean, really. Give me one example of how teens having sex, or adults committing adultury hurts society as a whole.
Finally, I also believe that our current society will eventually fail if we don't make some changes, but it won't be because of immorality. It will be because of war and material over-indulgence. If we can't stop fighting, we'll kill each other off. If we continue to spend and over-extend ourselves financially and materially, we will eventually kill our earth and destroy our financial system.

Let me understand. Pagan Alexander and the Macedonians conquered the known world because they were moral, and the kingdoms they conquered were not? Then the kingdms of Alexander's successor fell to the Romans because the Greeks were less moral than the Romans? And the Christian empire of Byzantium fell to the Moslems because they were more moral than the Christians? And the Moslem Ottomans fell to the British Anglicans as the British Anglicans were more moral than the Turks? And the Brits lost America to the colonial Deists, and India to a Hindu in a bedsheet because the Deists and Hindus were more moral than the Anglican Brits? And the Baptist etc. Americans lost Vietnam to the atheists because the atheist Viet Cong were more moral than the Americans?
Sure. That lines up with everything we know historically....sort of...kind of....well not really.
Read the book "Guns, Germs and Steel" for the real facts about the rise and fall of human societies. It is a fascinating read.

I agree that all societies no matter how great fall. It seems that America is going in that direction, our present leadership believes America to be untouchable. When leaderships get to big headed and for long enough they eventually fall. Also we know from other nation that Nations that go on conquest eventually fall by weaker armies. I believe are military adventures may cause it if it is our time, but not Moral decay because they are a lot of good people in America who are very much moral conscious.
Like Anti-War protestors, and people who speak out for peace and equal rights. We still have good people here!

I agree that it will be partly due to immorality. The other cause will probably be due to economic decline. Other Nations are rising up fast and are not allies of America.
America is not specifically mentioned or referenced in the Bible as others are, ex: Gog is clearly a reference to Russia. Persia is clearly Iran and Iraq area, just as they use to literally be Persia in the early 1900's.
Anyway, my point, in future prophecy to be fulfilled during the end days and tribulation, maybe America is not mentioned because America will not be significant.

If anything, I see a world wide movement for Christianity and the Christians try to take over the world. This is where I step in with a ninja army with skills. By the way, this one is sarcastic, and is in no way meant to be offensive. It's supposed to be funny in a retarded way.
But immorality? It wouldn't be a major reason, but an important one.

Very few civilizations have ever entirely been effaced from the earth, except those which we may have little or no account of because of it. Therefore it will likely fall in some manner of thinking, but in another, merely change its name, and/or characteristics.

You may be right. Debt seems to be a way of life here. Everybody's in debt, the government's in debt. This is a recipe for disaster. Only fools love debt. To everybody out there get out of debt the fastest you can and don't borrow a single penny more.

What makes you think society is any worse today than it was 10 years ago, or 30 years ago, or 500 years ago?? People have ALWAYS insisted that society is at it's worst point at this minute. Socrates bemoaned the wickedness of society!!!! My parents did, your parents did, their parents did. I don't believe for one second that we are any more immoral now than we were before.
