Look at all the people that have been tortured, used for medical experience, raped, etc.

The Christians' objection to this argument involves freewill. They say that a being must have freewill to be happy. The omnibenevolent God did not wish to create robots, so he gave humans freewill to enable them to experience love and happiness. But the humans used this freewill to choose evil, and introduced imperfection into God's originally perfect universe. God had no control over this decision, so the blame for our imperfect universe is on the humans, not God. However...

************INSTEAD of letting us have all options, why couldn't he have just given us some good, nonharmful options? He coulda saved a lot of the lives of his own "creations"....

Who said free will was God's idea -- if we don't even have it? I don't see what the problem with robots is, Satan loves 'em. Maybe that's what salvation is all about then, i.e. God opening our eyes to all of this, and once we see where we were headed save for His grace, we repent of our sins and begin a relationship with our Maker. That gives God his omniscience, but it makes for a damaged Man, and I think that's the better way to look at our situation.

A christian believing in free will is an oxy moron. Free will cannot exist next to an all knowing omnipotent, omniscient god. If this god knows everything that will ever happen before it happens, if that god knows what I will do before I do it how can free will exist? If god new everything that would ever happen before the very first act of creation, and he or she is perfect in every way, than does it not stand to reason that everything that has happened has been because this god intended it to. god created Lucifer, an angel knowing full well that Lucifer would one day turn against his wishes becoming Satan. Is Satan not just fulfilling the destiny that god laid out for him. Is he really evil or just doing gods dirty work. Do any of us really have a choice in any decision we make if everything is already known by god?

Great thinking! But...What if God would have made us all robots, meaning we only think good thoughts, it would be like everyone would be on drugs! You could make everyone obey you if you point a gun at their heads, you can even find connection and love through violence and murder. But to be fully alive is to be AWARE of right and wrong. To have a choice. Sure their has been suffering, but only shows to prove that only God has the wisdom to guide us to have a happy life. We have to make the choice to trust him. It is clear that without God's guide we will error. God wants to fill the universe with intellegent life that is truly good not robots. Imagine if he would have made us robots...Hitler and other evil murderes would have never been unmasked. There is no limit to God, and God want us to have no limit in our thinking, only that way we will really know who we really are.

God wants to know who we really are.

Free will is a bit of a misnomer because the sovereign God planned what each of us would do and decide for each day of our lives. God did want people to see that choosing Him was better and more meaningful than being "robots."
Instead of labeling this as "dumb," let's see this as benevolent. God was kind enough not to blow us all away as sinners who spoiled His perfect world. Sinners do not deserve what God offers, but He offers eternal life to those who believe in Him. That is a love that cannot be surpassed. Amazing, isn't it?

You don't really need free will to be happy, you just need it to be alive. Why not just good options? I suppose that being limited to only good decisions wouldn't really place us on the level of consciousness suitable for a being that is meant to become God's soul mate.

The whole free will debate can go on and on for hours. The fact of the matter is your trying to comprehend an incomprehensible God with your finite mind. In other words, your using human logic to try to understand God. It cannot be done.

Do you really think that God would want us to accept God without it being our choice? Free will gives us this choice.

Free will only goes so far. God has plans for everyone that can't be changed. Free will exists only when it doesn't go against his plans.

Because we, ultimately, were created to worship and bring glory to Him. Don't you think He would rather have people worshipping him because they choose to, or because they have no choice?
Think about it.
