okay, so there's this guy... and well, he's my best friend's ex. And i've had really strong feelings for him for... oh god, like four or five months, possibly longer. well, he broke up with my friend because the long distance thing was too much. (she moved back to germany) anyway, during the summer he and i used to hang out all the time, and then the day he broke up with her.. he was just gone. we didn't talk to each other for about four months or so.. and then, about a month ago, we start talking again. he says he wants to hang out with me again... so we go to the movies and stuff, and then on Valintine's day we go over his house and he asks me out. i said yes. a few days later, we were sitting in his car, adn i said i love you.... he said he didn't feel the same way about me... yet. we "dated" for a total of five days. on the 19th he texts me and says that he can't do this, and that he's not over her yet. she's been gone 8 months now, and i just don't know what to do anymore.

you definately ruined it by saying i love you after a coulpe of days. but chin up. just let him know you wish to be his friend and be there as one. dont mess it up by hovering around him 24/7. give him space and time. he may eventually come back in his own time so be patient. and next time, be patient until both of you feel it before saying i love you. especially so quickly.

I think you may have came on too strong when you said that you loved him after only 5 days.
And he didn't know what else to say besides he wasn't over his ex. Maybe he's not, but it seems like he should be since it's been 8 months.
But first of all, you need to ask yourself...did you really love this guy after only 5 days? I think that's almost impossible.

You were his rebound, even though it didn't happen right after they broke up, hun I am sorry but I don't think that there is anything you can do. You might have scared him off with telling him how much you loved him but I bet that he isn't over her, and if when he is, he still likes you then go for it, but I would move on:(

you scared him away and it's your own fault.
Of course he thinks about her.
