I suggest that you look at the bigger picture and ask yourself can you handle the mental, emotional and physical consequences. At this age your very vulnerable, and theres a lot about life you don't understand yet. So tap into your inner deeper self.

Five months is a long term relationship for you as you are 16 but it's not long enough to dive straight into sex. If you're ready go for it but make sure you use protection. Even if he doesn't have STI's that won't stop unwanted pregnancies. If I was you I'd wait for the right time. Sex should be something special with someone special.
The very fact that you're asking this question tells me you're not sure and if you're not sure you're not ready yet. Hold back until you are positive this is what you want to do.

Don't do it unless you feel like you can handle the consequences if the relationship does work out (what I mean is, do you see yourself being with this guy for forever? If not, are you okay with giving that part of yourself to him anyway?). If you're an emotionally sensitive person, wait a little longer (maybe date for a year or so) to see if the guy is committed to you or if he just wants sex. I'm not saying he does, but what guy doesn't, you know?

This is only my opinion - but I have been there, so maybe this helps...
Wait for the right time for you, because the #1 most important thing in the world is for you to respect yourself.
If you don't demonstrate a high level of self-respect, no guy is going to. And this may not seem true to you now, but boyfriends will come and go. Your self-esteem is far more precious than any temporary sexual gratification that may come from having sex now.
* If * you decide to go ahead and do it anyway, please, please, please, please, PLEASE use protection - and * if * he breaks your heart, listen to the Beyonce song "Irreplaceable" at least a thousand times, or until you believe it.

Your 16!!! No one who is 16 is really ready for sex. Teenagers are very vulnerable in their teenage years and need to be careful. One night could change your entire life. Pregnancys, STDs, or what if he breaks up with you. You should wait until you are older and can relieze what you are getting in to. Or even better, you should wait until marriage!!

You may be in legal trouble if you don't wait until you're eighteen. Sorry.
