A recent study indicated those who bathe have different personalities (spirituality) than those who shower. I have my doubts, but I thought it might be interesting to poll this chat group.

My wife is trying to help me recall the name of the program, it was something like "Investigative reports" on the History Channel, and it was dealing with serial killers. Anyway, most all serial killers never bathe, some even had severe phobias about bathing. Some sociologist interviewed some serial killers, but mostly they interviewed the relatives of the already executed killers. (like I said, I doubted the sociologists research. This was only about 5 minutes of the 1 hour report on serial killers)

I should have asked which do you prefer if you have the time?

I wasn't implying any major trait about serial killers, like they are both deranged and hostile. The sociologist was alluding to the taking of a bath as related to the amount of compassion a person has for strangers. Wouldn't it be strange if bathing was not just an indicator of compassion for strangers, but if it would actually increase our compassion for strangers. - a la Japanese, except of course during WWII.
(Of course, there is always an exception.)

I usually shower but if i have the time, a nice long, hot bath sounds nice and relaxing. Hot tubs are even nicer! Though not typically for bathing.

Yes I usually bathe or shower. However today I'm just feelinfg cruddy. Wanna smell an armpit? Actually the Japanese have the right idea. Their baths have a cement or tile floor with a drain. they fill the tub with hot water wash and rins off, by dipping water with a pan, before getting in the tub for a nice long relaxing soak. Soaping up in the tub and sitting in dirty water is strictly a barbarian idea developed in the western world.

Very interesting...The possibility that is it the Bath that soothes the soul and raises compassion, or does the Bath indicate the existance of this trait in a person....

I am totally into submersion! The deeper and Hotter the water the better...

I install roofs, so most of the time, I shower. I imagine the water would get pretty nasty if I were to bathe. I do soak in a HOT tub of water if my body gets really sore from a steep roof, or a rough tear-off, but I shower first, and after. So I guess I am a shower person.

I shower and make my kids shower. The reason is because all the dirt and goo and yuck you had gained on your person throughout the day will be bathing with you in the tub..ewww. While in the shower, as I'm scrubbing, lathering etc. the water is off until its time to rinse. Save water!

If it really matters im a Christian.

I bathe on a daily basis sometimes i might pass over an afternoon like on the weekend or something if im not sweating lots and im being style of lazy. I oftentimes wash my hair each time I bathe except it starts getting fairly dry, then i might pass an afternoon... I stay in D.C.

Shower on a daily basis but long hot bubble baths are a treat I do a few times a month.

I shower every morning before work. If I have a tough day at work, I might take a relaxing warm bath in the evening.

I like to bathe rather then shower, but it depends on how much time I have. Sometimes a shower feels really good, but so does lounging in the tub with a good book!!

OK, thanks for the Random Trivia of the Day.

OK... Uh, I shower because I'm always in a rush. School in the morning, none at night. On weekends, at least in the morning, to go for lunch. At night, I occasionally soak. But then I realize that I didn't shower, so I get out and shower. I should try showering then soaking. It would be nice to soak in some warm, maybe hot water..
