Things I ALWAYS pack when I travel:
-sound cancelling ear plugs
-eye mask
-curved neck pillow
-OTC gelcap sleeping pills
-Airborne Vitamin Tablets

As for entertainment:
-Video ipod. Just download torrents in .mp4 formats, and you can drag and drop them into itunes for around 6 hours of entertainment.

-You can do the same with your PSP, as long as you have a connector cable, and a memory chip with around 3 gigs.

-I always bring a copy of US Weekly and Maxim. They are trashy, but they have a lot of pictures and can keep you interested for at least an hour apiece.

HOWEVER...If you use the eyemask, sleeping pills, and earplugs, you can probably be asleep before takeoff and wake up when you're at the gate disembarking.

Happy Travels!

For these kind of flights, in addition of the I-pod (of course! ) I add a funny book and one of those magazines with logic problems or crosswords. If you have one of those tiny electronic games gizmos, you can also play for a while. Probably you will have several in-flight movies and this will help you to burn some hours. If I am going on vacation, I carry also the guide or information for the place where I am going and I start doing some "homework". I keep a travel diary, so I always have a small notebook and pen, and I write what is going on. You can use this trick when you come back, to think back about your trip and write your memories.

Travel safe!!!

Cheers!

Portable gaming sysytem, laptop. Snacks (airplane food is terrible)
Portable DVD player
Deck of cards if you're with someone else.

If you're riding in a Boeing 777, every seat has a TV screen and you can change the channels.

My experiences on the 747 is different, each section has 1 projector and they choose the channels.

A coat (very cold in high altitudes)
