i used to give my cat a bath once every two weeks to once a week, sometimes more often, but i used mostly warm water and only baby shampoo occasionally or for bad spots. it was necesary as he had fairly long fur and would get poo on his "bloomers" as i call them ;-) and he'd get litter caked in his inch long foot tufts. he didn't get dry skin at all, and he LOVES water. but it's not usually necessary.

While cats do clean themselves, and well at that, sometimes it is necessary to wash them. If having a problem with ticks and fleas, you can safely wash your cat up to once a week for up to a month safely. After that, it is only necessary to wash most cats on a monthly basis or even less! It is VERY important to use CAT shampoo to cut down on irritation (remember, they lick themselves and not all shampoos are same). Truthfully, if you have a short hair indoor cat without health or parasite problems, they can safely (and happily) go for years without a bath. I will say this though. It isn't a bad idea to occasionally wash your cat so that they become used to the whole thing. Trust me....a cat that knows what is up is alot easier to deal with in the tub when they have a little experience with it. Heaven forbid you come down with a flea problem and suddenly have to bathe a cat that has never done it before! Believe it or not it gets easier the more you do it!

Bath your cat only 4 times a year, scedualling the baths at the change of the seasons will cut down on fleas. It would also be a good idea to bath your cat after u take it to the vet, or if it gets out of the house.

You mean lick herself or take a bath? Cats will lick themselves many, many times a day and this is normal. But you shouldn't give your cat a bath more than once a month; it will lead to dry skin and fur.

Every cats we've ever had bathe their entire body at least once a day, usually they do a portion at a time (they'll do their heads, then later in the day their back legs, later their bellies, later the sides so eventually their whole body has been bathed).

You're really not supposed to bathe cats, since they do have a natural way of cleaning themselves. If they run outside and you need to bathe them that's fine but beware... too much "bathing" could damage their skin.

You probably shouldn't bathe your cat more than twice a month. Bathing her more often than that could irritate her skin. Cats do bathe themselves.

As many times as your cat feels like it......you don't need to bathe your cat! They take care of it! Unless they get sprayed by a skunk or something.
