ok. I am a 19 year old 5"2 female who is now about 90-92 pounds. I started college this year (at 112 pounds!) At first I only wanted to lose about 7 pounds, but the weight has just kept coming off. I workout (cardio) 6X a week and do light weights 3X a week (Please don't tell me to workout less, this is how i deal with stress). Lately I counted my calories, and found I am only getting about 1000 a day. I have been trying to eat 1200 a day for the past week, and it has been hard. If I am not hungry it is hard to make myself eat. I would like to maybe gain 5 lbs, but I am scared I will gain a BUNCH more and start unhealthy habits. Right now I don't eat any red meat (I used to be full vegetarian), and no wheat (allergic reaction). I don't know what to do. I want to eat, but im not hungry/scared. what should i eat? how much fat? etc. Please help me!!! I really dont have anyone to turn to.

technically you would be anorexic.

you should never get below 1200 calories in a day, and even though you dont want to hear it, you do work out too much.

have you thought that there might be other ways to release stress? maybe taking up a hobby like painting or something.

the easiest way ive found to boost calories is with 100% juice. so many people are against it because of the carbs, but when it comes down to it juice (when its 100%) has all kinds of vitamins and some have good fiber in them too. and when a single serving has about 80 calories, it should be easy for you to get 3-4 extra servings.
right now you are underweight. if you have the resources, talking to a nutritionist would be a great benefit to you.

you should be between 100 and 120 pounds. if you gain them in a healthy way, you shouldnt gain too much, and you wont become "fat" the weight will distribute itself on your body in a healthy looking way. so you should gain 10 pounds, not 5.

i know on a small body, 5 pounds can look like a lot. im only an inch taller than you (on a good day) and i need to lose almost as much as you weigh. but if you gain the 10 pounds you need to (in order to be healthy) you will notice a huge difference.

working out might be your way of combating stress, but it could also be adding to your stress.

if you arent a fan of juice, i would suggest cheese (1oz. has great benefits and it is high in calories) and fruit or maybe even some crackers.

dont worry about starting unhealthy habits. as long as you dont gain the weight by eating fast food, you should be ok.

good luck!

I wouldn't be worried about gaining unhealthy habits, because you already have unhealthy habits. You are anorexic, and it is spiraling out of control. You need to get professional help, and you need to eat more.

Try adding a little bit of food at a time, your stomach will have basically shrunk because it's not used to getting a lot of food at this point. However, if you eat a bit more at each meal you can start to stretch it out and essentially make it more used to getting food.

If you're wanting to gain weight, you're going to have to eat more. You are working out so much that you're buring off all the food you're eating and then some....which is why you're losing weight. If you're afraid of gaining weight, you're likely developing an eating disorder. You may need professional help to get it all under control.
