I'm clueless whether you're trying to make a point or just conclude something for sure.
Personally, I believe in evolution and spiritualism for the most part, so it doesn't really offend people like me.
I don't find "faith" a good answer to "How do you know if there's a God?" It's either you believe in him, or you don't.
Heaven may not even be an option later on. If there's heaven, there's heaven. If there's not, other things can happen. Reincarnation, rot in the ground, afterlife. (same thing for the most part).
They want to support their religion, is why they bother donating and attending church every Sunday. Not because it "ensures" them a place in heaven. You can't assume they're thinking that way just like that.

Probably right. Generally very few people live up to the ideals they espouse, no matter what thos ideals are.
I used to get involved in what I call, "Groupism." Where I'd affiliate with some group with a cause or belief, and then be all defensive when they were criticized; because, afterall, the group had such great ideals. Then I kept realizing 98% of people in every group didn't live up to the ideals.
I had a choice: Get bitter about it, or realize that has nothing to do with me and I still have to be a good person. I took a third option and started hating Jews.

No,that's not the way Christianity works. You do not have to pay to insure a place in heaven,or because it makes ourselves feel good.It is specifically written that we should not be voert,or proclaiming our donations.
And,thanks for making such judgements.I would be fine with going to an overseas country.
You do not know the minds of all 2.1 billion Christians in the world, and frankly, your judgement does not reflect well on you.

Have you heard of missionaries? There are millions of them? where have you been? Have you heard of the Red Cross and Slavation Army volunteers? These people are not paid.
The people are the body of Christ- some are meant to pay for the trips and some are meant to take the trips. We all have different tasks in the workof God. I don't know any true Christians that go to church for insurance or tithe for insurance. We go to worshipGod - we tithe to worship God.

You do have a point, and I am sad to that that is the case with some brother's and sister's in Christ.
But while there may be some who are "in it for themselves" and likely are therefore questionable in their faith, there are many many more who give everything they have, everything they are, in response to God's call.
God does call upon many of us to go to faraway places, in an impoverished state, and many do just exactly that.

One could also make the argument that they have a selfish view of the universe ... how arrogant is it to say that we are the only life forms in the universe, when it's mathematically impossible
more to the point, you can have any opinion you want
... for there is no right, nor wrong ... but thinking makes it so

yep thats probably right but thats what most people would do. Take the easy way out of things to insure a better future. Chuch = painless, easy in most cases ... traveling or any other requirment that may have be asked = not so easy so people might not do it

It would not be wrong. Because you are 100% right. When you are right then you can not be wrong. Yes they are very selfish. I have asked the same ? They believe out of selfishness for their own protection not out of love! What a fact and what a great ? Thank you.

Many humans are selfish, and many Christians are humans. We are ALL selfish. Maybe some people are trying to buy their way into heaven. Won't work. God knows our hearts. Maybe some people know they are being selfish and are struggling against it. You can't judge peoples motives. You can't judge anyones motives or heart. Only God knows our hearts.

I agree. But I'm a Christian anyway. I don't care for organized religion so it will have to be a wedding or a funeral before I enter a church again. I believe there is a God and you make an excellent point anyway!! @8-)
