Ask her to accompany you to lunch. Go as friends and you'll be able to tell if she is interested in more by the end of the lunch. :) Good luck.

Never proposition a woman...thats called solicitation of prostitution, and its illegal!
I used to be just like you - extremely shy. Know what I figured out? The absolute worst thing that can happen is she says no. Big Deal. Move on to the next.
So, next time she is being chatty and nice, discretely ask her "Look, would you like to grab a bite to eat after work today?" If she says yes, go from there!! If she says no she has plans, ask if maybe some other time. If she says no, take a hint and dont ask again.

I think she's just bored at work, and you being shy read a lot into normal social interaction because to act in such a way would be provocative for you; but for her it is not.
My advice - Take her right there on the copy machine. If she responds, she probably likes you. That's my test that I've always used.

until you find yourself, your confidence in who you are and what you want, and the ability to ask for it ... honestly, I would spare yourself and her ... you are simply not ready to have an adult relationship ... but if you do have the nuts to anti-up ... i'll say this, anything in life thats worth doing is going to be difficult
