Why do you equate a religion with it's negative believers.? A religion is defined by it's good not it's bad. By your reasoning only Buddhism has truly entered the 21st Century due to having the least extremists, this isn't true.
The Middle East only represents less than 20% of the Muslim world, and baring in mind that democracies like India and Indonesia have the biggest Muslim countries, so if you were to go by the majority, Muslims have entered the 21st Century, if you're judging by Western standards.
As for criticising Saudi Arabia, the UK and US endorse Saudi Arabia. Be consistent...if you endorse nations that are 800 years behind... you support them to an extent...

??? CNN and Fox is not the entire outlook into Muslims worldwide. Nor is Iraq, which engages in a Civil War like our forefathers and the world's countries and territories have, the place where all Muslims live and share political and world outlooks with. The Quran says that anyone who commits suicide will be granted with Hell. Muslim is a religion very much compatible with Modern times, the Quran advises Muslims to gain knowledge and research and find science to know the Greatness of the Creator. In fact, while Europe was in the Dark Ages, Muslims were studying science and was a very vibrant religiously diverse modern community of people. In Many parts of the East, the people are kept illiterate so the leaders can control them, trust me, if they read the Quran, they would be demanding rights and calling some of the governments out on their false interpretation of Islam and Shariah Law. But moreovr, there are many Majority Muslim countries that are very modern and educated.
The Answer is Education, Knowledge is a powerful tool for good and truth.
Peace Be Upon You.

Countries do not represent Islam, as USA does not represent Christianity.
Malaysians have a large islamic population and are doing very well. That about goes the same for Dubai and The United Arab Emirates and other places like Turkey and Pakistan.
You gotta understand that most of the countries in the middle east are economically dependant on larger nations because of a number of reasons. Political incapacity is one of them. And until they can get their economic act together, they wont be able to educate their populace properly and consequently reach a level of advancement that is portrayed by their Western counterparts.

No. The current Islamic year is 1385, so the Islamic 21st Century would begin about 2623 AD, more than 600 years from now.
In 1385 AD, the vast majority of Christians believed the Earth was flat. Columbus thought he landed in India in 1492, and Christians were still torturing, burning and hanging "witches" up to at least 1692.
I think that kind of puts things into perspective.

The number of suicide attacks committed by Muslims probably number in hundreds every year. While this is still a number too high, lets not forget there are 1.5+ billion Muslims in the world. And suicide is rewarded with hell, not heaven. Those who don't understand it are simply misguided.
I do agree that some governments in Muslim countries are corrupt, but this has nothing to do with Islam. Islam does not stop one from acquiring knowledge, but it actually encourages it so we find the truth.

First of all, instead of talking rubbish about Muslim religion do some research on Muslim religion, where u will find that Muslim religion is all about peace, believing in Allah and things like that. Don't judge the Muslim religion just looking at one country which is having a war. I am Muslim and i am concerned about global warming and stuff like that not less tha any other christian at my school or work. So, do not hurry with your conclusions.

Really, last I checked the freaking Christians were worried about homosexuals getting married and that They are the true way to god, not the other religions or even Catholics. That science, science for godsake, is being taught in school. Lets work on our own Christians first, then we can worry about the rest of the world joing the 21st century as percived by the U.S.A.
