Hypertrophic scars are very hard to treat. Traditional methods (skin grafting, dermabrasion, steroid injections, etc) usually do not have satisfactory results and sometimes can even make the original scar worse. However, the recent discovery of lasers have made a huge difference. Please see a dermatologist. He can determine if a traditional method will work for you or if it would be best for you to receive laser therapy. Laser therapy has really been quite beneficial to those with hypertrophic scars and keloids.

Please keep in mind...this is a scar. You will not "get rid" of it but can have the appearance improved dramatically so that it is less noticeable.
