Counselors are all different and it could be that you haven't found the "right" one. I would definitely keep looking. The right therapist can be a miracle worker and can definitely help you learn ways to cope with your anger.
In addition to that, practice techniques that help you relax. Learn to recognize your anger triggers. When you recognize that you're reaching the point of anger, walk away if you can. Take a break. Meditate. Exercise.
Explain to your friends and family that you recognize your anger problem and you're trying new ways to cope with it. Enroll in an anger management class. They even offer them online for minimal fees.
If you believe your problem is related to a hormonal imbalance, you should keep a journal and track your symptoms. It could possibly be that you suffer from a more serious form of PMS, called PMDD. Speak with your doctor about ways to cope with this. Diet, exercise and possibly medication may improve your symptoms.
Congratulations on recognizing that you have a problem and taking the initiative to do something about i. That the hardest part.

If you do not want to, can not take, or are taking, but with not much result, prescribed medication.........you can get herbal remedies over the counter, such as st. johns wart..for depression...and anxiety...if this may be the problem, there are also other herbal remedies for anxiet, which my guess is more than likely causing your anger. Do not take these medications with your prescribed meds... it's best to ask your physician even if you are not on any other meds....Also, can a therapist suggest a group of others with similiar anger issues that may be able to help

Dude, first of all, I totally like worship you for your buddy image! I love that movie and that character!!!
They have done a study on women whom gets PMS to the EXTREME. They're wanting to study these women more. So, they advise women like you to check with your doctor and see if he or she can bring you in the direction to be studied. Scientists are currently looking for something to give to PMSing women to relieve their symptoms. I had seen this on a commercial. You sound like you should really look into this more. Just to let you know, I'm in the same boat as you, honey!

See a doc to see what meds they can give you. Possibly counseling may help. Aside from that, try to reduce/avoid sugar, simple carbs like white bread, and caffeine. Just sugar itself can cause such problems (check with your doc on this, but from my experience, it can a person into someone who is angry & paranoid if he/she has too much or too little or too much and then no food for a while).

you are older now so you have a choice how to act. try meditation. try to tell yourself how foolish you sound. I have a son the same way and it sure is hard to live with. I feel for you and those around you. try not to say a word if someone erks you. go to a different room until you calm down.

My husband has been meditating for 30 minutes in the morning. He has become less angry. Less angry at traffic, coworkers, etc. He tried a breathing meditation called Metta bhavana. You can look it up on Google.

buy a stuff animal or make a person kind of thingy think of it as ur anger buddy............and scream in it,hit it,or PUNCH IT!!

by a punching bag.. trust me it works. + its funny when people watch. my cousin has one in his basement.. one day he was pissed and he came downstairs put one his glove like he was all com and them he troughs one houge punch takes his glove of and just walk upstairs.. it was pretty funny
