Why do some people treat others like idiots? The way to talk or write to and about the other person as if he or she is retarded.

Simply because they are tactless. Some people think it's funny to talk down to other people, becuase they think that they are smarter. I would know, becaue I used to do it. I finally realize how stupid and hurtful it was, so I stopped. Unfortunately, most people don't/won't realize this, so they continue to do it.

Some people feel it necessary to be condescending to others they view as inferior. Does it look cool when someone yells at people over 60, assuming they are deaf? Does it make a man more of a man if he degrades a woman? It does not make anyone better, stronger or hotter when they belittle someone else. In my experience on both ends of the joke....Insecure people target others who appear weak in order to project the illusion that they are strong......... With even the smallest discernment it is plain to see bullies are the ones who are mentally challenged.

Some people treat people that are mentally retarded really bad, becoz those people want to become superior even just to the mentally retarded people 'coz they seldomly get to be superior ... They're just jealous to others hu hav power and are popular, they want to be popular but they cant hav fame... They dont have sesitivity to other people's feelings!!! They're ruthless!!! JERKs!!!

They sometimes don't realise what they are doing.
I always say to the offending person : You will stop patronising me! (if I feel treated like an idiot) Often times it solves the problem.

some people really think they are better than everyone else and are very condescending. I personally think they look silly doing it. At least with those people you know who they are and how to deal with them.
