I'm sort of shy. My friends and family wouldn't say that, but when it comes to guys I am. Can I overcome this?

I just want to be less shy around guys and know how to get them to notice me. I'm in High school. I'm not comletly shy around them, just when it's just me and a cute guy. No friends around. Sure, I'm fine with guys (I've got some guy friends) but I'm nervous around ones I really like. I even have problems just talking to them. I'll go the whole year just saying "Here is your paper" and by the end of the year they really don't know Either my first and/or last name! Help major!
