the main problem with the svchosts.exe in my computer is that it eats up my 90 -99% of my CPU ....so the computer just stopps for few 30-40 sec......is happens most of the time..thats the main problem......i didnt find it in any other computer system( i meant the CPU eating problem)....should I leave it as it is???......but my computer jams all the time for 30-40 sec...

there are several svchosts.exe at play here - you may want to shut your networking if you do not use it - you can go task manager and change it's priority {ctrl+alt+del} all at one time - right click svchost exe 's - go to set priority and change they from nomal to low..good luck.miktill

It's a new problem. Last time microsft have updated the windows XP and released some patches there were some files that they can't be compatible with some systems and it makes problem with "svchosts.exe" and Memory. But don't worry too much about it, There is a patch for it.

This is a core Windows process. You should not mess with it.

Do you have all the Microsoft updates installed?
