Okay, well I am 14 years old and I go to a small town school. I have never had a boyfriend ( I had a little one in elementary but it doesn't count). All of my friends don't have boyfriend or have never had a boyfriend (they say that they did but their meaning of a boyfriend is far from what it is supposed to be) so I don't know why I am worrying about this. I have never been kissed also. I feel that I should be out there looking for someone but I am only 14...right? I have talked this over with my parents and they said that once I hit 16 I will probably feel more ready to get a boyfriend...is this true? For right now I just enjoy hanging out with my family or friends on the weekend...is that okay for my age?

This is absolutely okay. I'm sixteen and don't see the need to date yet. If you're happy just being with your friends, don't worry about a boyfriend yet. And you might feel ready when you're 16, but you might not. maybe you'll feel ready in 3 months, or even 3 years. you'll know.

It is completely ok to never have been kissed or have had a boyfriend by the age 14, especially in a small town. I am 21, but i remember back when I was 14 and 16, etc. You shouldn't worry about a boyfriend and you said that you are fine just hanging out with your friends, so hang out with your friends. Relationships will happen naturally and you will know within yourself when it is truly time for a boyfriend. Relationships require a lot of maturity and whether or not you think you are mature enough or not, you will find out naturally, don't worry about it so much, you're too young.

It's definitely okay. I'm also 14 and I have the same problem. It's not really a problem, though. If you enjoy hanging out with your family and friends then don't worry about getting a boyfriend. You'll get one eventually, when it's the right time. I'm not sure if age has anything to do with it or not. I think it has more to do with if you like someone and if you feel comfortable being with them.

Don't feel bad I'm 15 and never been kissed either. The feeling where you think you should be looking for someone comes to different people at different ages, came to me at 12, so its not totally true. YES, spend more time with family and friends while you don't have a boyfriend yet, when you do spend equal amounts with both.

it sounds like you are worrying about this because u want to be the first to have a boyfriend amongst ur group of friends. Anyways u shouldn't worry about it at all, the sluts go out and pick out weird boyfriends to be with but it never really means anything in terms of love. So just wait and the right guy will be there at the right time.
And yeah 14, hold up until ur 15 at least and pending on your 16th birthday.
Don't force love just let it come to u. =)

Don't worry in a year or two boys will be interested in you and everything is going to change. You will be getting in trouble, your parents wont know what they are talking about anymore and the first boyfriend is going to break your heart unless you break his first. You will be making out in cars, coming home late, being grounded ect... You have one of the best parts of your life coming soon. And when you are 50 you are going to look back ....sigh...and say ...those were the good old days, and smile.
Just one very important thing you will appreciate later in life.
Make sure you still get good grades in school, that is one thing your Parents are right about.

Honey, enjoy being single now why you can. You are still young and you need to enjoy yourself, live your life to the fullest. Having a boyfriend is going to be an extra strain on your life. Do not teenagers have enough to worry about now a days? School, chores, homework, parents, friends, siblings, ect., Believe me, you are not missing out on anything, your mom is right, wait later. You will have plent of time for love later.

First you parents are right.
Second you will be ready for a boy friend long before the boys will be.
Men don't mature as fast as women, and they don't feel the great need for a relationship that women do.
Relax, don't obsess, and give it some time. If you haven't had a boy friend by the time you reach 18 then I would start to worry, but that is a long time from now.

yes, enjoy the time you have being single. its not always fun to be in a relationship. there are good times, but also bad. i'm 14 too and i dont have a b/f i've had 2 before, but i wouldnt really count them as my b/f's. i love my life right now though. its probably gonna be the best time in my life for a while. so enjoy being single its ok you'll meet someone and you'll start liking other guys soon =]

1st, I'll confirm what everyone has said, "there's nothing wrong with you".
2nd, I'll tell you what everyone else seems to have forgotten. You're a 14 yr old girl. You're getting major hormones right now. It's normal to think about boys and wonder why, but i would definitely wait. You're parents were right, I just wish they had thought about the hormonal issue.
Good luck, I hear it's tough being a teenage girl these days.
