Okay, so I have a Betty Crocker cake mix, but I only want to make a small serving of cake (say a bowl full). Does anyone have a recipe for a microwave cake using just the cake mix and water? I'm sure I've seen it done before.

I appreciate answers so far, but could someone give me a single serve recipe with JUST cake mix and water? Thanks!

Thanks for all your replies. I really appreciate it. Just to let you know, I found the recipe I was looking for in particular. It goes as follows:

Mix 1/2 cup of cake mix and 1/3 cup of water and microwave 1.5-2.5 minutes. It works great! You can have cake without the egss and other things. Try it out if you want and enjoy!

The tupperware people sell a set of dishes designed just for this purpose. They served it at a tupperware party I went to a few years back.

Hey, I make them all the time. Here are the recipes I use at home.
If the apple filling and applesauce are too much you can either take them out or substitute them.

INGREDIENTS
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
1/2 cup applesauce
DIRECTIONS
Mix the box of cake mix, eggs, pie filling and applesauce till moist. Use a microwave safe bundt pan or substitute a microwave safe bowl that has a microwave safe cup or cone placed in the middle of it (to mimic a bundt pan). Pour mixture into the bowl around the cup.
Bake on high for 6 minutes 30 seconds, turn and bake for another 6 minutes 30 seconds on high. Remove from oven and cover bowl with a dish and let stand for 5 minutes (this finishes the cooking process).
Turn cake over onto dish and remove cone (cup) for a delicious quick dessert. Good hot with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

You really can't do it with just cake mix and water, it needs the egg to work properly. What you might do is mix 1/4 cup cake mix, 1 egg white, and just enough water to make it cake-batter-ish, and microwave that for about 45 seconds (depending on how powerful your microwave is).

go to the grocery store and buy the betty crocker single serve microwave cake mixes, they are really good. you are not going to be able to just add water to a regular cake mix, it requires the eggs and oil (or applesauce) for a reason, because there is something missing from the mix.
