You might want to try a hair relaxer from the part of the pharmacy hair section geared towards black people (who you notice often have thick very curly hair).
Otherwise, the best thing to do to get hair straight is:
1) Blow-dry it while brushing it. This will make it dry straighter than it would normally.
2) Spray a small section with hairspray.
3) Iron over the hairspray while it's still wet. You'll hear the sizzle of the iron hitting the spray, this is the sound of the spray drying under the iron! It will hold itself flat very well this way, better than anything else holds in it my experience.
Also, use the widest iron you can find. A very thin iron won't do as well for very curly hair because it won't keep the hair straight for as long while you're using it unless you use it VERY slowly.

I have the same problem and honestly the only way to get flat hair that ive found is to sleep with a winter hat on. Just make sure when you're ready to go out you flip your hair around so it doesnt look like hat hair.

You cant have naturally flat hair if your hair is naturally frizzy... Why don't you go with your natural hair and find ways to wear it wavy/curly, it will be a lot easier and look a lot better than trying to go against the way things are.

you could get your hair straightened...like not permanently, but it stays for maybe about 6 mos. or so..it all depends. its like a perm, except its striaight instead (i think it also costs the same amount as a perm...but its totally worth it...it also depends on the place you get your hair done)!! also, for the time being, you can use sunsilk straightening shampoo..it seriously works!!

Wash your hair and dry it with a hair dryer. First, use your hands to comb through your hair using the hair dryer. Then, when it's halfway dry, use a brush to comb it dry and straight.
