All the answers are good, but most of my patients say the cold things help them the most the first few days and when they have their adjustments. Things like ice cream, smoothies, Popsicles, yogurt, milk shakes and then more ice cream! Some patients love this diet just a bit too much! Good luck and it won't be long before your a pro at wearing them!

Soft foods are generally a good idea....but with that being said...the sooner you start chewing on real foods, the sooner the soreness will go away....chewing helps get the bloodflow going, which promotes healing....check out www.archwired.com where they have plenty of recipes for soft foods, as well as loads of information and forums for orthodontic patients.

Try these:
Oatmeal, soup or yoghurt.
Basically, you want to avoid any type of food that requires a lot of chewing, because that will put unnecessary pressure on your teeth.
In 2 days or so, you can go back to your regular diet :-)

yogurt, applesauce, soup because i know it hurts to chew so this would get you full without the chewing...im sure your teeth will look great!
