BELIEVE THAT!
Actually, heathens call acts of nature, The VENGEANCE OF THE GODS!
A more logical adaptation to the story. Is that a cataclysm of some sort had created a Greenhouse Effect long ago.Volcanic activity had clouded the atmosphere.
So light would not have shone through the density of the atmosphere. And therefore, there would have been no
rainbow effect. AT THAT TIME!
It is "theorized". That the heat from the sun evaporated
the water particles on Earth, as is does every day. And created a heavy water canopy in the clouds. Which broke at some point, creating the Flood!
Put that on your Pipe and smoke it!

The earth itself had a protective canopy around it, before the global deluge occured. Thus rain itself did not occur in the manner we are accustomed to.... Look at the North and South Poles... Obviously there is more water than was intended for the Earth and also shows something occured that caused these 2 places on the globe to form in such manner.

It is, of course, physically possible. Rainbows only occur in the sky when the sun is a fixed number of degrees from the viewer after the water vapor level has reached a certain point. If the world can be made in 6 days, it can also be arranged that whenever the sun is at that angle, a cloud roles in front of it.

The myth of the Biblical flood was stolen from an earlier religion, the Babylonian Epic of Gilgamesh--so speculating on the details of a myth seems a grevious waste of time!!

There was no such thing as rain before the flood, the water all came from the ground.

No, rainbows never happend before the flood. Rain is what causes rainbows and there was never any rain on the earth before God brought the flood. Its in the bible somewhere, I just dont know where.

That's the same as asking, "Did it never rain before the flood?"

They never had rain before the flood.
If you read your Bible, you will find out all they had was dew before the flood.

well when you figure we had a shield of ice over the planet, I find it hard to actually create a rainbow for the light would be reflected as it came through the ice. Being unable to make a rainbow.

That is why a rainbow is so special today.

Thats because, prior to the flood, water was not able to refract light... Go figure...
