Try to eat smaller, more frequent meals instead of a couple or a few large ones. Eat a good breakfast, a midmorning snack, a good lunch, an evening snack, and then a light dinner. More frequent meals will boost your metabolism. Don't skip meals - skipping meals will slow your metabolism down. Be sure to include proteins and fats in your mini-meals, to keep your blood sugar steady. High-sugar snacks will cause your blood sugar to climb & then drop, leaving you craving more sugary foods.

Try to focus on including healthy foods in your diet, instead of worrying too much on avoiding 'forbidden' foods. Avoiding foods you like will tempt you to overindulge on them. It's OK to eat them, just limit the amount. If you find yourself craving a food you know is high-calorie, try to eat something healthy like a fruit or veggie first, and then eat the less healthy food afterward if you still want it.

Your kids watch what you eat and will follow the eating habits that you model, so you need to focus on modeling healthy eating Remembering that may help you to stay motivated to eat right & get to & maintain a healthy weight, as well as knowing you are helping your kids grow up with healthy attitudes about food. Choose healthy foods, eat lots of veggies and fruits, and eat in moderation. Try to eat slowly, to give your body time to let you know when it's getting full.
