Dogs are not color blind. Sure they don't see colors as vibrantly as we do, but they can see them. I have bee training dogs for years and I have noticed that they prefer the color blue, they like the blue bowl better than the red, or the blue Frisbee better than the purple one. I know they see in color.

Yes .The domestic dog is bread down from wolves coyotes and other wild animals.Canines are pack or lone hunters .Prey animals rely on sent and movement .Black and white imagery has a high resolution and picks up movement better than color.

yes, but colorblind means that they cant tell the difference between complimentary colors. like a red ball in green grass. they cant see a color difference, but the can see the difference in texture and obviously smell it. came goes for blue & orange and purple & yellow. bad color combos for dogs and colorblind people.

Yes.

They have only two color receptors (we have three) and they have a vision compared to red-green colorblind people. This doesn't mean they don't see any color at all, but have problems to distinguish some of them.

Its debatable. Old studies say yes, but new studies are showing that dogs see in color (but this is not proven).

I've heard that, not sure if it's true of every breed. That would be interesting to research. :)
