I do not have children. If I did, I would not use curse words in front of them if they were still young. People that do not curse are more intelligent because they have a higher vocabulary. I choose not to use certain words. Does foul language make one cool? No, it makes them look ignorant.
On a side note: There is no point in sheltering because they will eventually be exposed to foul language and many more things that could be a lot worse.

Nope.
I actually retained some of the intelligence from high school English class to use descriptive words that contain more than 4 letters.

My mom only does when she is extremely mad. She told me that if you ever feel like cursing, then substitute a word (that means the same thing) for the cuss word and it won't be bad.

I don't curse infront of anyone- I think there are better ways of expressing yourself.
My partner...hmmm, only with every other sentence...and our daughter copied him once...she was 21 months at the time.
He's trying to cut back now!

I do on occasion when I am really angry, generally being on hold for over an hour, or have hurt myself. But my daughters quickly tell me that I shouldnt swear in front of children. And to make their point they will then repeat what I have said as they know it upsets me to hear them swear. Its their way of saying if you do it then so can I. So I apologise and we talk about why it isnt polite to swear.
